Subconscious Revealing of Mental Illness
Who is Jon Arbuckle and his “supposed” cat named Garfield, and more importantly, how does Jon’s actions in the comic strip reveal author Jim Davis’ inner life?
Thought This Was Interesting
A friend sent me this interesting link, which both made me wonder who would even think about doing something like this, and what does it all really mean?
It made me want to order some of Davis’ Garfield books and see how they might translate in this subliminal method of delving into the author’s psyche.
Current Knitting
I’ve been able to get up to round 103 on the Ichida lace.
Each round is now over 700 stitches, and they are requiring a bit more concentration than the rounds that were mostly the mesh/background stitch.
Hi Joe,
I just happened to notice in the blurb under your photo, that you and Thaddeus will have been 25years together this year! When is the big celebration?
All the best
Dawn
OK, that Garfield thing is kinda creepy, no? The lace is beautiful, and a testament to your dedication. As those rounds get bigger it is harder for me to concentrate, as it appears that no progress is being made at all.
I’m looking forward to the final “it’s done and blocked” pics. I don’t think I’d knit that particular one, but I really like it.
By the way, I wasn’t lost. I knew exactly where I was the whole time. Driving 4000 km total, partly through snow storms, and uphill both ways. Delivering a hat.

Garfield can only be improved by the removal of the “not-fat-but-fluffy” cat. And this from a true cat-lover.
I wonder if anything can be done with Ziggy (clearly a paranoid schizophrenic) and/or Family Circus (“Not Me”/”I Dunno”= multiple personalities?)…
xoxxoo
I enjoyed the Garfield-less Garfiled cartoon much more than the regular. The lace is so beautiful, it really takes my breath away.
removing “garfield” makes the comic laughable somehow…
“ziggy” and “the family circus” and “blondie” should all be retired to the big newspaper recycling bin. they are SO NOT funny!
a little birdie tells me someone’s birthday is coming up very soon…..
A lot of my friends posted about the Garfield minus Garfield a month or so ago, and all it did was give me the heebie jeebies. I went through my Garfield phase over 15 years ago and even removing Garfield from the comic wasn’t enough to make me want to go back.
Mel told the world that today is your birthday (4/4) Happy Birthday! Many, many, many more
I had checked you earlier today and found no 4/4 blog entry – either you’re sleeping in, working very hard, or just trying to ignore the day. I don’t know why, Joe. You don’t turn 42 every April 4th. That *is* the right age, no??
Happy Birthday! Many more – all blessed with good health, happiness and many friends.
happy birthday Joe! And hey, that pound cake is awesome.
That lace is breathtakingly beautiful.
I never saw a white tiger cat before, though I have seen black tiger cats. On my monitor the lace seems to match the cat.
Happy birthday!
The verification word is ayehp – and
I’m from New England. Ayup!
Did I tell you yet that the Ichida is AWESOME!!!!!????
