Superlatives Word Cloud

The “magic” of the Men’s Knitting Retreats has become a reliable phenomenon.  Something we can count on to happen every year.

2019 Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat

Yes, we did it again.

Over 40 guys had an amazing time at this year’s Men’s Knitting Retreat at Easton Mountain.

It never ceases to amaze me that this event seems to attract some of the most wonderful men.  I feel truly fortunate to get to be a part of this retreat each year.

Part of the magic is the venue…Easton Mountain.

But mostly, the event is all about community.  A special shout-out to two special folks who participated this year through donations to the guys.  Long-time blog reader and friend, Beverly and her fiber-neighbor Sergej were very present with the guys at this year’s retreat.  Thank you.

Current Knitting

Three things.  Tilt Cardigan is completed.  Washing the Tommy’s Preferred Blend CSM Socks.  And a new Knitted Cross Stitch Scarf on the needles.

Tilt Cardigan QueerJoe Complete

I’m thrilled with the result of this cardigan.  I threw it on yesterday to work on all the post-retreat tasks I needed to do and it was like I was wearing the oldest, most comfortable garment in my wardrobe.

Second, my handspun bloomed in the most wonderful way.

Tommys Preferred Blend CSM Socks Washed 02

The combination of fibers (rabbit, silk, lambswool, etc.) bloomed to make a sturdy, soft and spongey sock.  I LOVE this pair of socks.

Finally, I started a new scarf so I could have something to work on at the Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat.

As usual, I didn’t knit at all during the retreat.  Well, that’s not exactly true.  I did knit six rows on Hayes’ boring scarf as a community initiative to help him feel good about himself and his knitting.

It is always shocking to see my name in your blog, especially when it isn’t me!
