In What Safe Place Did I Put That?

Yes, I’ve become my mother.  I put something away in a “safe place” and now I have no idea where it is.

Not-So-Safe-Place – My Mind

A while ago (months?), I found the battery charger and the extra battery for my Canon Rebel XS digital SLR camera.  I remember thinking, I better put this away where it belongs or I’ll never find it.

You all know the end to that story.  The battery in my camera is low and needs recharging. No surprise, the battery charger is no where to be found.

Worse yet, I have no way of charging the battery.  I have a mini-USB port in my camera, but trying to charge the battery through the camera doesn’t work.

Thaddeus has become a parent too.  “When did you last see it?” “Did you check your camera bag?”

It’s so saddening when my mind isn’t like the mind of a 20 year old anymore.  It requires me to rely on habit and an “everything-in-its-place” mentality.  Otherwise, despite having a reasonably small living space, I won’t be able to find anything when I want it.

I consider it a defeat that I just ordered a new battery charger. Blog readers will have to suffer through iPhone 6 photos of my WsIP until it arrives.

Current Knitting

On the other hand, my knitting in the past two days has been much more successful.  I finished the keyhole scarf and it came out reasonably well.

I’m not sure if it’s the yarn or the shape of the scarf, but it does require a bit of blocking to keep it flat.  I would have thought broken rib would have laid flat more easily.

I also made a lot of progress on the Linen Stitch Scarf.

If you look at the last black “stripe” I knit in the scarf above, that is the halfway point.  So, I’ve still got a bit of work to do. But I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

  1. Ha! I go through this every Christmas. So proud of myself for purchasing gifts throughout the year and then having no idea where I put them when the holidays arrive.

  2. I’ve started writing in my planner where I put things. Next December has the notes of where my nativity is tucked away😃
