Foto-February – Day 6 – Circular Sock Koala Face
The photo of the day reminds me how, like most people, I find faces in many random places. Including the bowels of my circular sock knitting machine.
Pareidolia is a type of apophenia, which is a more generalized term for seeing patterns in random data. As a boy, I remember seeing faces in the wood grain of my bedroom door as I tried to sleep at night. Like many boyhood experiences, it made me think I was brilliantly, unique.
Foto February will be a combination of photo-only posts and full-blog posts throughout the month.
Interesting, I have always found faces and patterns, had no idea it had a name. I don’t see the Koala face, I see a bird’s face.
