Foto-February – Day 20 – Orphan Yarn
Orphan yarn can be such an albatross, no? Do I knit something crafty that will use up some of the leftovers? Do I keep some of it in case the knitted garment that used it can be mended or modified?
Using Up Orphan Yarns
I have various projects that use up leftovers.
The Interlocking Crochet Scarf is a great use.
As is the Hexapuff Blanket…
Honestly, this project is still jammed in a bag waiting to use up leftovers.
And to be rigorously honest, I don’t do a lot with my leftovers. Sometimes an art teacher friend of mine will request a bag of leftover yarn, so I’ll pack up stuff I KNOW I’ll never use. And that’s usually a lot of yarn.
I’m not a good crafter.
Foto February will be a combination of photo-only posts and full-blog posts throughout the month.
I have a great project for you to use up all that ‘orphan yarn’! I’m creating an environmental installation from strands of knitting, crocheting & weaving, to be exhibited in Vancouver, BC, this summer. If you’d like to participate, you can contact me thru my website: http://www.adrianbakerart.com
