Fall isn’t my favorite season. It reminds me it’s about to get cold and dark. Two things help me make the best of Autumn.
What Helps You Make The Best of Autumn?
We have great apples during this time of year where I live. So apple pie (Thaddeus’ apple pie) makes me happy.
His crust is better than the amazing apples.
It’s also getting cooler, so knitwear and quilts make me happy too.
I’ve mentioned often how much I love my bed. When it’s adorned with Kaffe fabric, it makes it even better.
And of course, it’s sweater weather.
Other than that, I kind of wish I could hibernate like a bear until Spring sometimes.
What gets you by in these darkening days?
Current Knitting
Focusing only on the Primordial Sworls Wrap, I have made quite a bit of progress in just two days.
In fact, another thing that always makes me happy is BINDING OFF a long a project! Yes, I just finished the knitting part of this project and I’m SO excited.
It ended up being longer than I expected..even before blocking
Before blocking, it’s 80″ long (203 cm) and 15″ (38 cm). I plan on making it 18″ (46 cm) wide, which will give the fabric even more drape.
Now I just need to weave in ends, block it, photograph it for the pattern and Ravelry and update the pattern.
Beautiful pie and knitting. Thaddeus’ crust looks fantastic! I have the pie crust curse. I can make a decent crust once in a while but often chainsaws and jack hammers are required.
Love the pictures! Might just bake a pie very soon. That shawl would look very good over a casual sport jacket, or any jacket really, worn like a thick scarf. 🙏❤️🙏

I love that scarf. I have been crushing on it every time you show an update, but, honestly, THAT QUILT! That quilt just knocks it out of the ball park. Seriously , the Intense color combination is sheer perfection. My congratulations to its maker. Superb! (Also, I like it a lot 🤩)
Thanks Marion…it’s the first and only quilt I’ve ever made (I sewed the top and had it quilted). It’s mostly Kaffe Fasset fabrics and a really easy design (Snowball Quilt). I loved making it and continue to love using it.
