Back To Cranking
It didn’t take much. A post in a sock machine forum about a new sock pattern. And just like that, I was back to cranking.
What Brought Me Back to Cranking?
Someone posted this Circular Sock Machine pattern in a Facebook forum and I had to try it on my machine.
And thanks to a beautifully-striping sock yarn from Urth Yarns (Uneek Sock), I created the first CSM sock in a while.
This is colorway 53 with a contrasting heel and toe yarn that clashes in the most perfect way. At least in my opinion.
I have started the second sock and even with the lacy ankle of the sock, I will enjoy wearing these socks a lot. I will probably order some more of the Uneek Sock just for this pattern.
Current (Other) Knitting
I was able to add a couple of repeats to the lace-weight Primordial Sworls Wrap.
As with most knitted lace, it will block out much better. So progress photos won’t always show it off very well.
I did do a light steam blocking on a section to verify.
Not as good as the color version. But it will make a very nice light-weight shawl when it’s finished.
Tell is more about your machine! I find them fascinating.
So fascinating. I saw a wonderful demo for machine sock knitting at Rhinebeck on an older machine. Your sock is fantastic.
Have a look at Merel Karhof “Wind knitting factory”.
I think you like to see what she does with sock knitting.
We have a lot of wind here in the Netherlands.
I think your knitting is beautiful, and you blog is always interesting.
Wow Wow Wow!! That’s so cool! I’ve never seen or heard of this machine before!!! The colors!! The stripes!! The lace!! And the shawl lace too!! Ooooo!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Love the socks, and the pattern. Looking very nice. Take care.
