Vaccine-Envy – It’s A Thing
When it comes to eligibility for a vaccine, I am a nobody. Status 1a? More like 2z it seems like. Vaccine-envy sets in quickly.
What Is Vaccine-Envy
If you are afflicted by this, there is no definitely necessary. You know what I’m talking about.
On a daily basis, I get calls or texts from family and friends who have gotten their first shot. I read a dozen or so posts on a daily basis on social media declaring victory by my social medial friends. There are stories of States where they’ve lowered the age criteria for 1a status to 60 years old.
I feel left out.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not begrudging anyone their good fortune. In the definition of of “envy” it is definitely discontent, not resentment.
But I do look forward to the day when I can go out to a restaurant again. Or not have rage at the selfish shitbags who don’t wear masks in public places. Or, on a more positive note, visit my mom.
Mostly, I long to re-join the men’s knitting community at the men’s knitting retreats.
And I definitely won’t be doing that until I’m vaccinated. Or much of anything else except Zoom meetups and knitting at home.
Speaking of knitting at home…I finished the latest Activity Cap.
This is the one I lost “yarn chicken” to earlier this week. So I kept the inner liner of the brim in the royal blue and knit the rest using a gray/green yarn.
Quite pleased with how it turned out.
I also finished the pair of half-finger gloves.
And started a new pair.
I will try to build up an inventory of these gloves on the craft show web site. There are two sizes (Small/Medium and Medium/Large). This latest pair is going to be the smaller size.
