Returning to Xanadu
Sometimes absence does make the heart grow fonder. I have literally been dreaming of returning to Xanadu. Or in my case, Easton Mountain.
In Less Than A Week I Am Returning To Xanadu
Has your heart ever ached to return somewhere?
Yes, I’ve longed to be home after long business trip. But no where else, other than Easton Mountain have I ever actually yearned to be.
This place has a magical quality that seems to nurture community. But it nurtures a community that brings joy, love and serenity all at once. I have never left this idyllic land without feeling whole…connected…nourished.
I hesitate posting this. There are many guys who would have liked to be at the Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat and can’t. In fact, there was a very real possibility that I wasn’t going to be able to be vaccinated in time. And when it looked like I wasn’t going to be able to go, it was heartbreaking knowing that I was going to have to wait until September. But fortunately, I was able to be vaccinated in time and I’ll be going up there next week.
So for those of you who long to be there, and can’t, I definitely understand the sadness. And I truly hope we get to see you there soon.
We have opened registration for the September Men’s Knitting Retreat. So hopefully, going forward, the Men’s Knitting Retreats will get back on a regular schedule.
I put the Provenance Mitts aside so I could start a project that I could work on without too much concentration for next week’s retreat.
This is the Primordial Sworls Shawl with some modifications. The yarn is Sport weight (Bugga! by the Verdant Gryphon).
So I went up to a US9 (5.5 mm) needle and reduced the number of stitches. Now that I’ve got the shawl started and established, I’ll go back and try to finish the second Provenance Mitt before I leave on Monday.
