Back To Routine - Finn 12-08-21 01

Back To Routine

With the two craft shows behind me, there is a lot to do. So, some semblance of getting back to routine would be helpful.

Are The Holidays A Time To Get Back To Routine?

I don’t think there’s ever a “normal” time. There’s always something that just doesn’t perfectly fit into the regular schedule.

So, I’m always up for adapting.

Finn prefers routine. He’s not overly good at adapting, despite the fact that he has no choice. But clearly his motto is “Change is bad.” He notices when I get up early to prepare for a show. When I drag up bins and crates of items to load into my car. Even when I try to keep a normal routine of brushing him with my morning latte, he knows that something is amiss.

Anyway, I need to get back to the world now.

I’m working on two knitting projects (see Current Knitting below).

I have to start re-stocking my craft show inventory since I sold over half my items.

Holiday shopping and scheduling of events needs to take place.

Biking continues despite the cold weather.

House cleaning is one of my chores, so back to that too.

And sometimes cooking.

Of course, blogging is back on schedule.

Life goes on and I’m physically over all the craft show changes to my body. I mean just standing for 7 hours is exhausting when I’m not used to it. Plus lack of sleep. And a weird eating schedule.

QueerJoe is back to normal for all of you who are less than comfortable with change. Like Finn.

Current Knitting

This beauty came back to me from a customer for repairs.

It had three holes. All in the first 10 rows of knitting.

I’m assuming they’re moth holes that happened after the garment was knit (since both the black and the blue yarn were eaten through). I told the person I’d try and fix it like new for them.

So I’ve ripped out the first 9 or 10 rows and will re-knit it back as best I can.

I had also started a horizontal striped garter scarf before the craft show and I’ve made some progress.

It will go into inventory shortly. So I’m already working back to my list of to-dos.

What have you got going?

  1. Welcome back, Joe! I agree about routine – one of these days I’ll get one ๐Ÿ˜€ Fiber projects – been making Toodies (silly name, but a hoodie with attached cowl) using up some stash. Finishing up a c2c afghan that I’ve been working on for months off & on. I really need to go through the pile of WIPs and finish some of them off or frog them. And probably pick up the needles for a project or two.

  2. Congrats on your success with the craft show, though with such beautiful items you make it to be expected! Just a tip with Finn, as one cat lover to another. Try brushing him with a brush, and not your morning latte. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Hi Joe.
The blue and black beauty back for repairs is….beautiful. Great colors together. Speaking of blue. Look at Finn’s eyes! Amazing.
    Best wishes!

  4. Always love seeing pictures of Finn. Such a creature of habit, even when you strive to keep his routine the same.

Itโ€™s been fun to hear about your success at the shows this year.

And that stunning piece you repaired, right up my alley. Iโ€™m always up for two chases of blue together.
