Packed And On My Way

It always amazes me how much I can fit in my Honda Accord. It’s finally retreat day and I’m packed and on my way up to Easton Mountain again.

By The Time You Read This I’ll Be Packed And On My Way

It is always the most exciting time for me.

  • The thrill of anticipating being back at Easton Mountain
  • Excited thoughts of being back with the most amazing community of guys
  • The anxiety of wondering what I’ve forgotten to pack

This past Saturday, we opened registration for the Fall version of the Men’s Fiber Retreat at Easton Mountain. And already, we have another amazing group of guys slated to attend.

Current Knitting

I decided to bring some easy knitting to the retreat. And also a project that doesn’t take up much space in my car.

This will be a pair of the Men’s Slipper Socks (a free pattern on the Men’s Knitting Retreat page). The first time someone knits these, it’s a little complex to understand when you switch from the foot of the slipper (done in-the-round like a standard toe-up sock) to the back/heel section (which is knit flat in garter stitch). But once you’ve finished one of these, whipping out dozens of them is pretty easy. There are also mistakes in the pattern which I will need to fix at one point.

The yarn is Auraucania Sayi (50% wool/50% acrylic) in colorway 1007 – Vinicunca.

Not sure what I’ll do with these, but they will most probably be gifted.
