A Month Of Photos – Day Two

The month of July will hopefully be 31 blog entries highlighting photos that make me happy. This is day two.

Day Two – Summer Colors

Colors always make me happy. Especially deep, rich, saturated colors, despite the somewhat monochromatic photo I started the month with yesterday. Petunias are always such a show-off flower when it comes to colors. And this vibrant pink with some smaller bright yellow in the background is loud and boisterous and everything that color should be. Unless it’s being deep and broody, which I also love.

I’m not a big fan of cut flowers, so petunias are a perfect flower for this household. There’s rarely been a summer at this house where we haven’t had petunias in some form adorning the outside of the house. The feature photo today is from a simple hanging basket that makes me smile every time I see it.

Current Knitting

Not sure how often I’ll post about my current knitting project on a blog-post-a-day schedule. But I was able to get a few rows of ribbing for the body of the cardigan finished since yesterday.

It’s the entire circumference of the ribbing at the bottom of the body. So it’s currently about 430 stitches each row. And you know how slow I am at ribbing.

  1. I have recently come to enjoy petunias. Before that, I was not impressed. Maybe because my stepdad always grew them and any association with him turns me off. Anyways, It was the purple speckle variety that did it. And they do have a mild pleasant scent too. Yours are gorgeous, and that is a great image. It could be in a calendar.
