Because it’s been such a busy week, today’s blog entry will be short and more a tease than anything.

Especially For a Retiree – It’s Been a Surprisingly Busy Week

Basically, I’v had three things keeping me kinda busy this past week:

1. Preparing for the upcoming Gay Spirit Camp at Easton Mountain.
2. Helping someone edit their manuscript to self-publish.
3. Knitting shit.

For Gay Spirit Camp, I’ve prepared two workshops (No-Cost Self-Publishing and Crafty Hooking). The self-publishing workshop is pretty much finished. I just need a few props to bring with me. The beginner crochet workshop needs some work. I finalized the pattern we’ll use, but I want to create a pictorial of each step in crocheting so the guys will have a visual reference sheet. I also have to put together a small outline of the presentation of my book and which section I’ll read from

When I first blogged about self-publishing, someone decided to finish writing a book and needed some help with getting it published. I’m in the process of helping him finalize the formatted manuscript.

On the knitting front, in addition to working on a time-consuming Stephen West shawl and making demo crocheted cup cozies for my workshop, I’m also getting together stuff for two new projects I want to get started.

So…busy, like I noted.

Current Crochet/Knitting

I ripped out the last cup-cozy and re-made it using an altered pattern that I think works better.

This one shapes better to the taper of a cup/glass and the re-written pattern is a little more simple for beginners.

I’ve added a few more rows to Aurora Cabin Shawl as well.

Even though I still have a while to go on this project, I still want to start a new project in hopes that I’ll get both finished before the retreat in three weeks!
