Back to the Drawing Board

Now that I’ve finished my current project, I have freed up enough time to go back to the drawing board. I’ve been dreaming about this design since I bought the yarn.

At the Garden State Sheep Breeders Festival, I purchase three gorgeous colors of Murky Depths’ Merino/Silk/Yak, fingering-weight, hand-dyed yarn.

I loved this yarn so much, that I actually did a test swatch (feature photo).

I’m not sure if I’ll have enough for a full pullover, so I’m doing a dual design for either a sleeved pullover or a pullover vest. Either way, I’ll be excited about the final garment. I wish I could convey how wonderfully silky and luxurious this yarn in a blog post.

Current Knitting

As I noted, I finished the latest garter-striped scarf.

I washed and blocked it to a little over six feet and about 5 1/2″ wide.

It’s not for me, but I really do love how it turned out. It’s always so great when a colorcombination works out. I’m also not sure what those two blotchy turquoise stains are on the last two photos. I think it’s a reflection off of the glass door in front of me.
