Lots of Retreats
Like many events, each of the regional Men’s Knitting Retreats has to start scheduling a year or so in advance. There are lots of retreats slated for 2026. The Great Lakes Men’s Knitting Retreat started up yesterday for 2025.
Yarn-Loving Guys are Thrilled There Are Lots of Retreats!
In the almost 20 years we’ve been organizing the men’s knitting retreats, the guys who attend are extraordinary in so many ways. They are talented, creative, supportive, involved, joyous and smart. They have truly become “my people.” As such, the retreats have become exceptional events. So much so, that we’ve increased the number of retreats again for next year.
- Rocky Mountain Men’s Knitting Retreat (Allenspark, Colorado) – February 2026 – Sold Out
- Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat – Easton Mountain, Upstate NY – May 2026 – Registration opens January 3, 2026
- Men’s Knitting Retreat – Southern France – June 2026 – Sold Out
- Men’s Fall Fiber Retreat – Seattle-area (Federal Way, WA) – September 2026 – Not officially scheduled yet
- NorthEast Men’s Fiber Retreat – Easton Mountain, Upstate NY – September 2026 – Registration Opens May, 2026
- Men’s Fall New England Cruise – October 2026 – Registration Now Open
- Great Lakes Men’s Knitting Retreat, Michigan – November 2026 – Not officially scheduled yet
- SouthEast Men’s Fiber Retreat – November 2026 – Not officially scheduled yet
You’ll note that most of the retreats that have opened registration have sold out already. It clearly shows there’s a demand for them. If you’d like to make sure you get an email notification when a retreat registration opens (less than 10 emails a year), you can sign up here.
Personally, I will be at the Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat in May and the NorthEast Men’s Fiber Retreat in September (both at Easton Mountain in Upstate New York). The May retreat sells out very quickly. If you’d like tips on how to have the best chance of registering for it, message me.
If the Rocky Mountain Men’s Knitting Retreat is any indication, there will again be a lot of interest in these events for 2026.
Readers’ Comments/Questions
Regarding the Bindle hat and yarn from Wednesday’s post, B.J. writes – “I’m wondering whether you have checked whether this might be an additional way to estimate that you will have enough yardage to finish the hat with the yarn that you pictured in your last photo”
The pattern tells you approximately how many grams each size of the hat takes. The combined total of both cakes of yarn is about 655, so I should have enough to make a few hats!

Speaking of Bindle hats…I finished the body of the second hat.

This is the large version of the hat. I should have the two hats finished by Monday’s blog post.
