Indivisible is asking us to boycott black Friday by avoiding three big supporters of the fascist, Trump regime.

Boycott Details

• Organizers: Indivisible is part of a coalition of groups including Black Voters Matter, Until Freedom, the No Kings Alliance, and others.
• Duration: The boycott runs from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday (November 27 – December 1, 2025).
• Targeted Retailers: The primary targets are Amazon, Target, and Home Depot.
• The Ask: Shoppers are encouraged to withhold all non-essential spending from these major corporations during the boycott period. 

Reasons for the Boycott

The boycott is motivated by concerns about corporate social responsibility and alleged political alignments. Specific reasons cited include accusations that companies supported or failed to oppose Trump administration policies, reports of Target and Walmart rolling back DEI initiatives, Home Depot’s alleged cooperation with ICE, and ongoing criticism of Amazon regarding worker conditions. 

I would suggest looking at companies you support to spend your hard-earned dollars. Do you have a special yarn dyer? A jeweler? A local non-chain candy store? Support people who support us.

If you do need to make a purchase from a company like Amazon, try to game their system. Many charities have an affiliate account where they earn money from each purchase you make if you use their affiliate link. If you don’t know of such a charity, link from my blog and help pay my annual expenses for hosting this space.

I would love to see at least these three boycotted companies hurt a little over the next few days.

Most probably I won’t be writing up a pattern for this. It’s specifically sized for me, and trying to write it up in multiple sizes would be more effort than it would be worth. If you have a specific pattern for a pullover in fingering weight yarn, you could easily just use the same three colors of Murky Depths Yakima fingering yarns I’m using (Ink, Sinatra and Drab).

The Murky Depths Striped pullover is moving along.

All of the arm-hole shaping on both the front and back are complete. I need to start calculating when to start the neck-opening shaping and upper-back short-row shaping.
