Weaving In Ends On The Striped Pullover

Even after having done some of the weaving/finishing as I went along, I still had upwards of fifty ends that needed to be woven in. Most of them did not require that I un-ply the yarn (and thereby double my work).

But I spent most of my last couple of days sewing and weaving. I really wanted to finish the Murky Depths Striped Pullover by today.

I am very happy with the overall result of this sweater. It came out almost exactly as I had planned and envisioned from the start. The sweater uses an amazing yarn in a great way.

Most knitters are apt to tell you all of the flaws in their finished projects. I am one of those knitters. Three thingsI would have changed are:

1. The neck opening would have been about an inch less wide. The photos of me modeling the sweater below are not made better by the stupid henley t-shirt I have underneath it. But I’m hoping that I can make it a little better with blocking the shoulders.
2. The ribbing at the bottom of the sweater could easily have used another inch of ribbing and perhaps even have been knit on a smaller needle.
3. The sleeve cuffs could have been a bit wider. Four more stitches would have been better but I’m perfectly okay with them a little tighter.

Despite those three whiny complaints, I am thrilled with how the sweater fits and looks on me.

The sweater hasn’t been blocked yet in any of the photos, and the colors look completely ordinary to most people who will see this sweater out in the wild. But I couldn’t be happier.
