Last Chance For Amazing Books
Certain designers should be represented in every knitter’s library. Many of us are making sure we take this last chance for becoming owners Alasdair’s books.
Last Chance For Alasdair Post-Quinn Books!
Don’t say I didn’t give you fair warning. One of the most uniquely amazing knit-designers, Alasdair Post-Quinn is discontinuing the publications of his books.

If you’ve ever wanted to attempt one of the most beautiful double-knitted scarves, you need this book in your library. Parallax is actually much more simple than it looks and is incredibly dramatic looking.
Alasdair has never discounted his books, so these deeply discounted prices for his books probably won’t last very long. Whether it’s for your own library or a gift to a fellow knitter, Alasdair’s life-work is a treasure to own.
I’ve know Alasdair for almost 20 years now. He is the only person who has ever inspired me to do double-knitting. His patterns are the only double-knitting designs I’ve ever wanted to do.
Pick up your copy of any or all of his hard-copy books before they’re gone for good.
Current Knitting
Recently I was highly distracted by an advertisement for yarn from Hobbii and had to make a purchase.

Ordering yarn from Denmark from a big yarn company like Hobbii might not seem like the best idea. But I love neon colors. Especially in fingering/sock weight yarn. And supposedly these yarns also glow in the dark. Though I haven’t tested it out yet.
I have always wanted a hunter-orange hat for the infrequent times I hike in the forest. At least annually, Thaddeus and I trek into a wooded/preserved area near us where hunting is allowed. We go on days when hunting isn’t allowed, but I’d still like to have a bright, hunter-orange hat to wear.
I also want it to be warm, so I decided to do Thermal Beanie with Ponytail Hole by Tony of Mountain Fiber Works.

This hat uses the crochet thermal stitch, so the fabric is soft and squishy and incredibly warm. It was great getting re-acquainted with this design again.
I also wanted this funky yarn for socks, so I cranked out a pair on the Gearhart circular sock knitting machine.

Hard to get an image on my phone that captures the color. It’s somewhat in between the two colors in the images above. I obviously still need to Kitchener/graft the toes and weave in a couple of ends.
