Is It Me?
Most people, including me, don’t always have much self-awareness about their mood. I think you can’t ask “Is it me?” often enough.
When I Hate Everyone I Have To Ask – Is It Me?
Thaddeus and I have been together almost 43 years. As anyone who has been in a long-term relationship knows, being happy and satisfied in a relationship sometimes requires recognizing when they are the reason for discord. Or at least recognizing when they are contributing to it.
For the last 14 hours, I’ve been annoyed by many of my interactions with Thaddeus. Despite how many times I’ve gone through this, I forgot that when I’m having angered feelings for someone, it might well be that I’m in a lousy mood or not feeling well. The crappier the mood, the more prone I am to forget to look inward. But when I can look inward, asking how much I am contributing to my annoyance is annoyingly useful. Asking the question allows me to remember that I ate a lot of sugar last night and that I often get prickly when I’m sugar-saturated. Worse yet, I’m usually in a shitty mood the following morning with my sugar-hangover. Realizing this, it’s a little easier for me to let go of my irritation and even possibly apologize for my part. Though an apology might require a little bit more purging of sugar from my system first.
Current Knitting
I was able to finish the Melt the ICE Hat by my deadline of yesterday.

As it turns out, I needn’t have rushed it, as I didn’t need it yesterday after all.
I also finished the Noro Kureyon hat I started.

I’ve always noted how much I like how Noro can combine unusual and beautiful colors together. But I also love how the texture of yarns like Kureyon can give my knitted fabric a somewhat rough-hewn look while still looking utterly fantastic (if I do say so myself).

Do you know anyone who needs a Melt The Ice hat? I made one to support the cause and because I wanted to try the pattern, but I don’t wear hats. I’m in Georgia and don’t need one.
