Recap NEMFKR 2026
It took me a while to go through all the images I took (or stole from others) from the retreat. I thought it best to present it as a recap NEMFKR 2026.
Photo Recap NEMFKR 2026
There are a few obvious groupings of photos from the retreat. I’ll keep them grouped this way so you only have to look at the images you care about.
Easton Mountain Hiking Trails
I’m quite proud of myself that last week I did yoga every morning, but I also went on two hikes on some of the trails at Easton Mountain.

The feature image today shows me at the West Summit of Easton Mountain holding a piece of maitake (hen of the woods, or Grifola frondosa) that I foraged whilst up there. It was a difficult hike for me and so I was drenched with sweat. But it was very satisfying.
The Donation Table
Derek always knits up a bunch of hats and scarves as one way of saying thank you to the staff and volunteers at Easton Mountain. Much of my knitting prior to the retreat ended up on this table.

The table was emptied quite fast, so I’ll take it that they appreciated our efforts.
Show & Tell
This part of the retreat is always quite amazing. The extensive talent of these guys is quite evident and wonderful to get to see.

It’s difficult to capture photos of the guys displaying their work, so I decided I’d try some of them on and take photos of me modeling some of the knitwear.
Expert Tables
In addition to their completed projects at Show & Tell, some guys also brought their expertise to share at the Expert Tables.

The Guys
Finally it’s become obvious that the greatest joy of the retreat is the community and strong bonds that get created. Here are a few candid shots of the most important component of the retreat.

I didn’t take anywhere near enough photos of the guys. In fact a few of these images are stolen from social media posts. It was an amazing group and I loved every minute of time I got to spend with them.
Current Knitting
One of the staff members at Easton Mountain mentioned that he had gotten a pair of open-finger gloves from one of us a few years before and he loved them. He told me how bummed he was that he lost them.

So I’m making a new pair for him and will send them up to Easton Mountain. I think he’ll like the deep plumb color of this pair.

Thank you for sharing; I wish wish I had been able to enlarge the photos. Such talent!!
You look great in pink!
