I Want Credit

There are times when I complete something where the level of effort might not be evident in the final result. That’s when I want credit more than I probably should.

Yes, I Want All the Credit I Can Get

If I’m doing any kind of task, whether it be at work, for Thaddeus or even for a gift, I hate when the results don’t make it fully obvious how much effort went into the task.

As far back as my grade school years I always wanted the gold star. I needed credit for all my work.

When I work on fingerless gloves, I feel that I never get enough credit for all that goes into them. When someone looks at a completed pair of these gloves, the fact that each finger and thumb is knit individually never seems obvious. There are 12 yarn ends that need to be woven in for each glove. Given that I want to make sure all my woven-in ends are secure and well-hidden, I split all yarn-ends into two separate plies, so there are 24 ends to weave in for each glove, for a total of 48 ends.

Apologies for the self-indulgent assignment of a gold star. But you’ll see now the lengths I’ll go to get proper credit for an effort.

Current Knitting

I have finished the knitting of the second open-finger glove.

You’ll see that I still need to weave in the ends. If I haven’t patted myself on the back enough already, please feel free to add a comment praising me for all the good work I’ve done. Thank you.

  1. Singing your praises! Lots of gold stars sent your way (from a gold star gay!)
Your open finger gloves look great. That gorgeous color!
You know I love your gloves with the open fingers and have broken them out already. (My hands go cold as soon as the temperature drops even just a bit…._
And I always marvel at what you have knit and are knitting and your choices of color, techniques and patterns.
I know all who attend the Men’s Knitting Retreats shower you with gold stars and gratitude.
Best wishes for October and fall!
