You Are An Abomination Christ Flag Monstrosity

You Are An Abomination!

For years, this message was hurled at me like a brick from the religious, self-righteous so-called Christians. Now I hurl it back at you. You are an abomination.

How Is It That Now You Are An Abomination?

Admit it. You’ve lost your way. And I’m not even sure Jesus, your Lord and Savior can get you out of this.

Don’t get me wrong. You’ve been an abomination in any righteous God’s eyes for a long time. Your message of hate toward so many, goes against the teachings of the very One you preach about. And I honestly don’t know why I even write this. A good Christian wouldn’t read a blog called QueerJoe.

Here’s why I write this.

Whenever I’d doubt the idea of hell and a vengeful God that was going to send me there, your best argument was: “What if you’re wrong?”

So if I’m wrong, and we both get to the gates of hell together, I want the right to say “I told you so.”

Or you could just agree with what I’ve been saying all along. The idea of hell is nonsense…but what if you’re wrong?

Do you not think your full-throated support of a racist man is enough to send you there? Don’t you think begging Jesus to “bless the U.S.A.” to the exclusion of the rest of the World is a big enough sin to have you condemned?

And choosing two hot, inked men to display t-shirts for profit. Profiting from the crucifixion and Jesus’ name? Surely this should secure your handbasket ride.

These companies wouldn’t stay in business if they weren’t making money off of suckers who claim to be good Christians.

So, yes…you are all hellbound unless you start taking the lesson of Christ a little bit more lovingly. It’s hard, but it’s worth it. Just in case.

Current Knitting

I ended up knitting three pairs of Duffers/felted slippers.

They knit up very quickly. I’ll try felting them later today and let you know how they turn out.

I also started back working on the Provenance Mitts.

I’ve finished all the colorwork on the first glove and just need to do the ribbing at the top and finish the thumb.

I’m looking forward to starting the second one. This pattern is great.

  1. “start taking the lesson of Christ a little bit more lovingly. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.”

Yes. Thank you for this. You are not an abomination. I am so sorry you have been made to feel this way.

    1. Just to be clear, I have known forever that I am not an abomination in any way. That insult says WAY more about the hateful person who uttered it than it does about me. But thank you for the supportive comment.

  2. People that judge others on what they consider the “Christian” lifestyle are not practicing what Christ taught. Consider the source and enjoy life at it fullest!!

    1. I couldn’t possibly enjoy my life knowing that these poor unfortunates are heading to hell. I must make them see the error of their ways.

Oh…that’s their method, not mine…never mind. I will enjoy my life to the fullest!

  3. I have found from personal experience that ‘Good Christians’ are the biggest hypocrites alive and therefore, the biggest abominations as they are doing it all the guise of Christianity.

  4. I fully agree with you. Take heart that not all of us are hateful bigots. The time has come for people to think for themselves, and recognize the bible for what it is, stories handed down, rewritten, and inaccurate.

  5. Growing up a Baptist Minister’s son, it took a long time to let go of the, you’re going to hell for just about everything. Once I let it go, I’ve been a great deal happier. I recently rewatched the GCB with my best friend. It was based on the novel Good Christian Bitches. It was so good and hit the hypocritical nail on the head. I think it was so close to home, that’s why churches pushed until it was canceled.

  6. ‘They’ are the abomination, and I suspect they know it. That’s why they’re so hateful. They hate themselves.

  7. It always seems pretty clear that these people have never actually studied Christ’s teachings in any meaningful way. Turn the other cheek, care for the poor etc. I truly don’t get it. The church I grew up in was never like that. I mean it was still church and there was hell I guess but it was rarely mentioned. I never heard any hate against anyone preached. The LGBTQIA rights movement was gaining traction in the general world last time I was aware of what was going on there in the late 80s. I’m not sure they ever got quite so far as to allow LGBTQIA folks to become ministers but they thought about it. My parents actual congregation voted for it. I’ll have to check to see if the ruling council or whatever it is ever accepted it. The overwhelming presence of hate mongering “Christians” totally freaks me out. I wish I believed in hell for them. But they are making their own lives a living hell by living with poisonous hearts and cutting themselves off from so much beauty that comes from embracing the entire world. Thanks you got adding to the beauty every day!

  8. As someone who tries to be a good Christian, I have three words for you:

    Preach it brother!

    Beautiful words. Thank you.

  9. I Love and appreciate our friendship Joe 💕 you truly are a blessing in my life and others as I can see ☮️💖😘🌞
BTW the slippers are so beautiful, is there a pattern?

  10. Most people probably won’t make it to heaven anyway.
    The “qualifications” are so tough.

This conversation brings to mind the old joke about Catholics thinking they are the only ones in heaven: “A Protestant who dies and is met by St. Peter at the pearly gates for a tour of heaven. As the tour goes on St. Peter points out all the different denominations, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and so forth. As they come to a certain group way off to themselves, St. Peter draws the man closer and whispers, ‘Now, for this next group, we need to be really quiet. They are the Catholics and they think they’re the only ones here’ .”

I would reply to anyone who told you that you were an abomination: “Yeah, says who?” (Say it with a NY accent- much better)
    Honestly. Abomination. What malarkey.
I might even go so far as to remark: “That’s NURSE Abomination to you, bub”.
    (I’m a nurse)

I hardly ever think about this stuff, so today’s post was good in that it gave me pause to stop and think about how far we have come! Isn’t that what a good blog is supposed to do?

BTW the slippers make me smile.

  11. You are so much more lovable than those pretend-Christians. Those who follow you would not be likely to follow them. They are getting into the minority and lashing out in desperation. Please ignore them.

  12. I am a fairly new subscriber. I enjoy your knitting posts. It saddened me to read your message. You hit the nail on the head when you said “so called Christians.” I am a follower of Jesus, not to be confused with those you are talking about above. Jesus taught that we are not to judge others, because we need to look at ourselves and see how we fall short and need help to practice humility, peace and love that Jesus exemplified. True Christianity is when a person comes to faith in Jesus, pursues a relationship with Him and walks life’s journey attempting to strive to be better people. A reading of what Jesus actually did and said provides a picture of what Christianity really means. I hope you know that I can follow Jesus and have relationships with people who do not believe as I do, without judgment but with genuine peace, love and respect (as modeled by Jesus himself.) Please accept my sincere comments as encouragement that some Christians do not support the hateful so called Christianity that is so prevalent today. All are welcome on the journey to follow Jesus, and all of us need to learn more about peace, love, justice and equality.

  13. It always amazes me that a so-called loving god would be willing to eternally torture the beings that he created in “his” image for doing things that don’t hurt anyone. That’s not how I would define love. That god has some serious control issues and more than a little bit of sadism in “him”. “He” isn’t worthy of anyone’s worship (even if he were real).

BTW, I’m a brand new subscriber, and I love everything I’ve seen of you so far. I’m glad I found you. 🙂
