I am so ready to be with my community. Gay Spirit Camp next week is sold out (which is great) and I’m so excited. Although, I did have a dream earlier this week that I was presenting my book at Gay Spirit Camp and I forgot to bring any copies with me.

So Ready to be Gay!

I guess I was kind of born ready. It’s really more about being with people I value being around. And also being in a place that fosters respect for my community and for the Earth.

But I am totally prepared at this point:

1. Book presentation is ready and I will have a lot of copies available. I took LauraRose’s suggestion about which section to read (Chapter 9 – Two Sides To Being A Man Who Knits) and I think it’ll be perfect.
2. My workshop on Crafty Hooking – Learn to Crochet is ready to infect as many new hookers as I can entice to be there, and I’ve made a lot of examples that I can use as advertisement in the days prior to the workshop.
3. My other workshop on No-Cost Self-Publishing is also ready to go! I’m hopeful it will be useful for many would-be authors.

I’ve even settled on packing VERY light for the week up there. I won’t know my rooming accommodations until I arrive on Monday afternoon. If I’m in a quad room, it will mean I’ll be rooming with three other guys in a small room with one bathroom in the room. That means limited hangers for shirts, maybe one dresser drawer and crowded bathroom counter space for toiletries. Basically that means I’ll only pack the bare essentials.

I won’t be blogging much if at all while I’m there. But I’ll try to take a lot of photos and post after I get back the following week.

Current Crochet/Knitting

I was able to finish the full spectrum of colors in the inclusive rainbow with my crochet cup cozies.

I even made a rainbow striped one. Although I won’t let anyone but an experienced crocheter try to learn how to do multi-colors until they’ve learned how to do a solid color one first.

Actually, come to think of it, my only knitting project is the only thing that might not be ready by the time I leave on Monday.

You’ll see I’m about halfway finished with the right-side of the underpants. It’s still uncertain if I’ll finish it, but I will keep at it. I also have a small gusset to knit, and I’ll need to sew up the garment, sew on five buttons and weave in ends. I’d also like to wet block it, but I may have to steam block it instead.
