Well, at least a new deck surface. Two decks in fact. You’ll have seen the old surface in many of my blog photos. It’s being redone.

Replacing a 37 Year Old Deck With a New Deck

We probably could have lived out the rest of our lives in this home and never had to replace our decks.

Our house was built in 1989/1990, so it’s about time for use to finally replace the deck surfaces of both our upper and lower decks. Mostly, Thaddeus didn’t want to go through the regular process of staining the decks. Clearing, cleaning and prepping the decks for staining was a lot of work. There were also a few really bad decisions the original builders made when they were constructing the deck. All of it will be addressed during the re-constructing of the deck.

Soon, we’ll have a deck using Trex. This wood replacement requires no maintenance. It also has the quality of not being as hot to walk on. Suffice it so say, it will be nice to have this major task completed.

Current Knitting

I was able to finish the two Starry Night scarves by yesterday (Thursday).

They came out great in both yarns. It turns out, I didn’t need to finish them by yesterday. So I’ll be making one more using the first red/orange yarn. The second one I’ll make slightly thinner and slightly longer.
